Access to Hanford’s Central Plateau is tightly restricted. But 131 of the house-size reactor compartments sit in the open earthen trench. You can see them on Google maps. At some stage, soil will be pushed over the reactor compartments in Trench 94, burying them—a problem for future generations to solve.
